Mantra means something, which protects us from thinking too much. The main problem of human beings is that they think too much. This chatter in the head deprives us of happiness.

According to yogic scriptures, the experience of happiness comes only when our mind is completely concentrated. It is very easy to disturb a glass of water, similarly, when our consciousness is narrow, it can be disturbed very easily. But if one throws big boulders into Mother Ganga, nothing will happen. In the same way, when the consciousness is expanded, external situations will not disturb it.

The feeling of happiness is nothing more than the feeling of elation. In normal life, we are disjointed - our heart desires one thing, our mind wants something else, and our tongue seeks something completely different, what to speak about other parts of our body. The mantra brings one back together into a unified being, harmonizing one's mind, heart, and intellect with the sound of the mantra.
