We can understand visarga, or secondary creation, only if we understand sarga, or primary creation. The narration of \"Srimad-Bhagavatam\" advances our understanding of reality. Ultimately, it facilitates a comprehensive understanding of the Absolute Truth.

Each canto of \"Srimad-Bhagavatam\" describes asraya, the tenth topic, from its own perspective. The First and Second cantos serve as an introduction to the entire book. The main topic of the First canto is the description of the methodology for understanding \"Srimad-Bhagavatam\".

There are five conditions for understanding \"Srimad-Bhagavatam\": 1) It should be studied in a pure environment in the association of devotees; 2) there must be respect and devotion to \"Srimad-Bhagavatam\" itself; 3) the study must be systematic; 4) speakers or listeners should not be arrogant about their knowledge; 5) the speaker should always consider whether the listeners have a sincere desire to hear him.
